Hey everyone! I've had this idea floating around in my head for awhile, and have now decided to try and make it happen.

For several years now, I've wanted to come up with a way to raise money to buy art supplies for kids.  A friend suggested selling an art book, but until a few months later, I hadn't made a decision about what kind of art book I'd put together. I had already decided that the supplies I purchased would be Crayola; with that decision made, it made sense that the art book – proceeds of which will go towards buying the art supplies – be full of images made with Crayola products. So here's the break down:

What: Inspirations Artbook
Who: KiaraJoy, Crayon-Artists & 50-100 dART artists!
Why: To raise money for art supplies for kids
Content: Artwork created with Crayola products: markers (including Color Wonder), crayons, colored pencils (including Color Sticks), paints (including watercolors), oil pastels, chalk
Art Submission Deadline: Submissions open January 1, 2013; cover art considerations must be in by February 28; all other submissions must be in by March 31.

Cost: $50 for the paperback, $85 for the hardback

We will be taking pre-orders to for the books, which will open via Kickstarter on February 1. It will end on March 31, the submission deadline. For those who want their artwork considered for the cover, it must be turned in by February 28. Profit from each sold book will go towards buying the art supplies! For the packs of art supplies, I hope to include the dART Pro Nomad Bag. Packs will arrive to children (there'll be sign ups available; children from low-income families will have top priority) with supplies inside of the bag; hopefully this will be in time for Christmas 2013. A letter will also be included, telling the child they were picked to receive these art supplies by someone special who wishes for them to continue creating. Supplies will include sketchpads, oil pastels, crayons, markers, washable paint, paintbrushes, colored pencils and chalk. Other items (like construction paper, coloring books and the like) will also be included if finances allow.

Each artist will receive one full page color spread in the book. If we do not reach 100 artists by February 1, each artist will be allowed two submissions in the artbook. There will also be a photographic index, with thumbnails of the artwork, what page it's on, who drew it, the URL to their deviantART profile and what medium(s) were used. Cover art will be picked by KiaraJoy and will also be given a page inside the book.

This venture will only be possible with your help! Promoting this art book to friends, family and visitors to your dART page, Facebook, Tumblr and/or Twitter will help a great deal. Please use the hash tag/keyword InspirationsArtbook. The more people we can inform about this, the more copies of the book we will sell – and the more art supply packs we'll be able to send out in December 2013.

Once the books are finalized (i.e. all submissions have been received and proofs of books have been checked and finalized), we will be holding giveaways and contests! Some will be on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook. Other giveaways and contests will be on Crayon-Artists and select affiliates that wish to participate. Prizes will be shipped once the first edition print run has been received by KiaraJoy.

All artists will receive a free hardback copy of the art book! Unless enough money is raised through pre-orders and Kickstarter, artists will have to pay shipping on their books. Books won in giveaways and contests will not be charged shipping. If extra funds allow, all artists will receive copies of all the special perks available to Kickstarter/Paypal pre-orders (excluding the original drawings given away as perks).

All artist copies, and copies won in prizes and giveaways, will have gold gilt edging on the pages with gold velvet slipcases. All pre-ordered copies will have silver gilt edging with silver velvet slipcases. All books purchased after pre-order is over (March 30) will not some with decorative edges or slipcases.
